Due to recent expansion, our client has opened a second location right in the heart of the byward market and seeking a Bookkeeper to join their growing organization. Working out in the market for summer and relocating to the Orleans office in the fall, you will get a chance to support a budding entrepreneur with his expanding clientele in his boutique accounting shop. As the Bookkeeper, you will get a chance to work with multiple business owners across the hospitality industry. Every day will bring a new challenge, and you will share in the preference for being part of a smaller, more intimate office environment. With a fantastic culture, keen collaborative team support, and progressive technology to ensure your time is most productive and enjoyable, this role is ideal for someone who loves "shoebox" accounting without the shoebox. Your role would include the following, but not limited to:
- Work with business owners in preparing all accounting transactions
- Process all government remittances
- Prepare annual financial statements, and cash flow statements for owners
- Assist with the annual budget process
- Post all transactions to the general ledger and provide analysis
- Coordinate all year end close requirements, and prepare corporate & individual tax returns
- Prepare all bank deposits and reconciliations
The ideal candidate for this role is going to love variety of their work. You will be customer service oriented, but want to be part of a smaller group. The Bookkeeper role requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience working with small business owners and “shoebox” accounting. Experience working in the hospitality sector would be considered an asset. If you are a “doer” who likes to be kept busy, and you want to work with an entrepreneur who is prepared to grow talent in exchange for loyalty, this role may be a great move.
